There is a very wide variety of clocks and watches available, and for such a gift to work it has to be something unusual and unique. Most people cannot afford the high prices of the top makes of clocks and watches for incidental gifts, and would welcome relative low priced (less than $100) simple gifts that are unique and that are unlikely to be given by anyone else. There is nothing worse than giving a gift and being informed that somebody else has just given the same!

Were that to happen to me I would hide the fact and let each person believe that their gift was unique. I recently bought a hunter’s cuckoo clock with the dancing people. It has three chain pulls and weights- I’m guessing, one for each of the qualities (the clock, the cuckoo bird, and the dancing people).

I have two questions..
1) How do I know which weight goes on which chain pull?
2) When the minute hand gets to about the 55-minute mark, the ticker stops working. Any help?

I have been asked to refurbish an old 8 day “Hunters Dead” Cuckoo clock. Unfortunately several pieces are missing. All of the connecting wires are gone so will be making those from my wire stock. Can you give me a diagram that shows how the connecting wire is placed for the bird and bellows? It is quite obvious that the two levers each move one of the bellows, but I do not know where the bird connects.

The clock is apparently a cuckoo clock that doubles as a weather clock. Apparently if it is going to rain, a little boy comes out, and if its sunny a little girl comes out. Or something like that. Anyways, does anyone know what kind of clock this is, or where to buy one?
