Exciting Wildlife Tour Activities in India

Friday, February 19th, 2010
Jenny Franklin asked:

India with its plenitude of diversities, has a wide range of tourism options to offer. For every passionate wildlife lover, Wildlife Tours in India are a must. Being the ‘Land of all Seasons’, India has a multitude of flora and fauna that enchants every tourist from far and wide. There are numerous places to visit and every place has some unique thing to offer. So there is definitely no need to worry about what to see and what to do during wildlife tours.

The places to see during wildlife tours:

A wildlife tour in India is an enjoyable experience. The major parks and sanctuaries that are mostly covered by visitors are:

Corbett National Park in Uttaranchal: It covers an area of more than 322 sq km and is a well-protected place. The park has a collection of different species of tigers, elephants and lizards. You will also find jackal, sambhar, antelope, fox and chital. Some very exotic species of crocodiles and fishes are also available. The attractions do not end here. You can also find numerous species of peafowl, cuckoo, woodpecker, waterfowl and red jungle fowl.

Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan: It lies on the eastern side of the vast Aravalli range and covers a huge area of 1000 square kilometers. Ranthambore National Park is mainly famous for tigers. However, it is also home to a number of other species of wildlife. Some of these are marsh crocodile, leopard, jungle cat, monitor lizard, sambhar, sloth bear, wild boar, chital and mongoose. Apart from these, another attraction of the park is its 264 varieties of bird species.

Sunderbans National Park in West Bengal: Covering 54 islands in West Bengal, this park has been recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO. The mangrove forests of Sunderbans are home to the famous Royal Bengal tiger as well as different species of wild pigs, spotted deer, monkeys, herons, kingfishers and white-bellied eagles.

Kaziranga National Park in Assam: It is marked by the long presence of the unicorn or one horned rhino, which is the major reason for drawing tourists. There are also other types of wildlife. Among these, the prime attractions are elephants, Indian bison, sloth bears, wild boar, pythons, leopard, capped langurs, hog deer and tigers. Apart from wild animals, the national park also houses a large variety of bird species. Some of these are grey-headed fishing eagle, oriental honey buzzard, Brahminy kite, white tailed eagle, black-shouldered kite and migratory birds. It is a favorite haunt for tourists who prefer experiencing the charm of thick tropical forests.

Periyar National Park in Kerala: This national park, amidst the foothills of the Western Ghats, is in fact a tiger and elephant reserve. It also houses gaur, mouse deer, sambhar, wild pigs, deer, dole and Indian wild dog.

Wonder Pets is an American animated children’s television series. It debuted on March 3, 2006, on the Nick Jr. block of the Nickelodeon cable television network and Noggin on August 31, 2006. It won an Emmy Award in 2008 for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition.

History and Format

The Wonder Pets television series was created by Josh Selig for Little Airplane Productions. The show was first seen as a short Nick Jr.’s film series called The New Adventures of Linny the Guinea Pig, in which a guinea pig named Linny traveled into space and under the ocean. Ming-Ming Duckling and Turtle Tuck were created when the show was expanded and called The Super Singing Power Pets!. The title was later shortened to Wonder Pets. The show’s main characters are three elementary school classroom pets Linny the Guinea Pig, Turtle Tuck, and Ming-Ming Duckling. They are presented as a trio of heroes who rescue baby animals as they demonstrate the benefits of teamwork.

The animation style used to create Wonder Pets! is called “photo-puppetry”, and was created for the series to allow animators to manipulate photographs of real animals. It also uses drawn objects (not characters), so the total presentation could be considered animated mixed-media.

A good deal of the dialog is sung, so the show has been likened to operetta or singspiel. A 10-member live orchestra performs each episode, sometimes including other instrumentalists skilled in music from the region to which the pets are traveling during the episode. Completing each episode takes 33 weeks from script to final delivery.

Preceding each show is a disclaimer indicating the show develops vocabulary and the concept of teamwork in pre-schoolers.

Characters and voice cast

Linny the Guinea Pig, age 5, is the leader of the Wonder Pets. Linny is voiced by Sofie Zamchick in the United States version and Isabella Moylan in the UK version. As a superhero, she wears a yellow cap and a blue cape. Linny appears to be the most educated of the group, often providing different zoological and geographical information to the others. She is usually the one to remind the group about teamwork or other values and offer praise such as “Good eye, Tuck”. She leads Ming-Ming and Tuck in most of the show’s primary songs and usually has the responsibility of starting the “Flyboat”. Linny’s catch phrase is “This calls for some celery!”, usually uttered at the conclusion of each adventure. Before Wonder Pets, Linny starred in a few three-minute shorts on Nick, Jr. titled Linny the Guinea Pig, where Linny would explore different environments such as the ocean and outer space.

Turtle Tuck (who is actually a terrapin and more specifically a Red Eared Slider) age 4, is a down-to-earth turtle who sometimes disagrees with Ming-Ming. As a superhero, he wears a white French sailor’s cap, blue Aquasocks, and a red cape. Tuck is voiced by Teala Dunn in the United States version (Callum Hanks in the UK Version). Tuck is arguably the most empathetic of the trio, often desiring to give the rescued animals a hug or keeping them company while Linny and Ming-Ming put their rescue plan into action. He also has keen observational skills, spotting things from a distance, which often garners him the compliment, “Good eye, Tuck!”.

Ming-Ming Duckling, age 3, is an overconfident young duckling. As a superhero, she wears a leather pilot’s helmet, goggles, and a green cape. Unlike the other Wonder Pets, she has the ability to fly. She can also speak “bird”, allowing her to talk to other birds that the Wonder Pets encounter. Ming-Ming also believes that her great-grandfather was an eagle. Ming-Ming sometimes tries to take on big problems by herself and in one episode (”Save the Duckling”) she even becomes the animal that needed rescuing. Ming-Ming often provides comic relief in the show. In the episode, “Save the Mouse!”, Tuck and Ming-Ming bump into a cuckoo clock, resulting in the cuckoo popping out. Ming-Ming then asks the cuckoo, “No, excuse me. Do you have a cousin named Pablo?”, referring to Pablo the penguin in The Backyardigans.

Ming-Ming is…(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about neon power supply, electronic agent, . The Marble Slabs products should be show more here!

World Famous Sanctuary Bird Kumarakom

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
Gaurav Kaushik asked:

Situated on the edge of the Vembanad Lake, the bird sanctuary is stretched across 14-15 acres of land. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a heaven for the lovers of nature and a preferred destination for the birds migrating like the siberian stork, egret, darter, heron and teal.

Kumarakom is interestingly gorgeous. The blue backwaters and the surface of Vembanad Lake replicate the blue sky. The remarkable tones of green of the plants that comprises of mangroves, coconut palms, and paddy grasslands wrap the grassy countryside. Channels and waterways storm their path all the way through this green seventh heaven. Water lilies and lotuses blossom in the water and birds from the bird sanctuary on Vembanad Lake attract as they fly crossways the apparent tropical sky. Kumarakom is a peaceful and a pleasant holiday destination

A stopover to the bird sanctuary, placed inside the flourishing lush green acres of wooded land close by, acquaints you to the selection of migratory birds that gather in a very large number, a number of them from the Himalayas, a little even from as far as Siberia. Along with that you would be thrilled to see the resident kingfishers blazing in different colors, try out a walk under rookeries of egrets and night herons or lone golden-backed woodpeckers and even take pleasure in the playful activities of the paradise fly-catchers.

An enthralling island on the lake, Pathiramanal (sands of midnight), can be reached by boat from here. Approximately 10-11 acre island on the backwaters is dwelling to numerous uncommon varieties of migratory birds from diverse corners of the world. According to traditions a young Brahmin jumped into the Vembanad Lake to carry out his evening ablutions and the water made path for the ground to mount from underneath. A journey along the Vembanad Lake is the most excellent way to enjoy the sanctuary.

Magnetism of Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary

The chief pull of this Bird sanctuary are local birds like the waterfowl, cuckoo, owl, egret, heron and the water duck, along with the migrating Siberian cranes. Parrots, teal, larks, flycatchers, wood beetle and numerous different birds are found here at some stage in their own migrating seasons.

Seeing the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary

Houseboats and motorboats are provided on rent for bird watching that sail on the lake.

Ideal Time To Visit

The most suitable time to watch the migratory bird is between June and August. To watch the birds which are migrating from different parts the most apprroriate time is November to February .

I’ve been thinking I should start with The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell, since I like metal, but I have also noticed that there is no consensus on what his best album is, like Megadeth’s Rust in Peace.
